How are late payment fees calculated?
How are late payment fees calculated?
If you're paying by invoice, late fees are added if the payment isn't made on time. The amount depends on your location and how many reminders we've sent. These fees only apply to invoice payments, not orders paid with a credit card.
Heads up: These fees only kick in for invoice payments. If you paid by card, this doesn't apply to you.
When late fees are applied
Paying on time is the best way to avoid extra costs. Here’s how the process works if an invoice becomes overdue:
First Reminder: We send the first friendly reminder 7 days after the due date.
Second Reminder: A second reminder is sent after 14 days, and this is when the first late fee is usually added.
Third Reminder: A final reminder goes out after 21 days, often with an increased fee.
Collections: If the invoice is still unpaid after 28 days, it may be sent to a collection partner, which includes a separate recovery fee.
Good to know: Statutory interest may also be charged on overdue payments in addition to the fees listed below.
Fee amounts by country
The fees vary depending on your business location. Here is a quick breakdown for business accounts:
Country | Fee After 2nd Reminder | Fee After 3rd Reminder | Recovery Fee (Collections) |
---|---|---|---|
Finland | €5 | €20 | €40 |
Sweden | SEK 60 | SEK 120 | SEK 180 |
Germany | €4 | €20 | €40 |
Other EU | €5 (uses Finland's terms) | €20 (uses Finland's terms) | €40 (uses Finland's terms) |
Good to know: For private individuals (not businesses), a single late fee is applied after the second reminder, and no further fees are added before the collections process.
